As Account Strategy Director for Parthenon Books, I lead a team of four strategists to uncover consumer insights, develop target personas, and conduct competitor and brand research that informs campaign strategy. I coordinate weekly strategy meetings, ensuring cross-functional alignment with account managers, project managers, and creative directors so all initiatives connect to client business goals. Working closely with the TNH Strategy Director, I gather feedback and bridge strategy and execution to drive impactful, insight-driven campaigns.

Reflection

Serving as the Account Strategy Director at TNH Advertising was one of the most rewarding experiences of my time in the program. I had the opportunity to work closely with the Strategy Director, receiving invaluable guidance and constructive feedback that sharpened my strategic thinking and creative problem-solving skills. Leading a team of four strategists, I facilitated weekly whiteboard sessions where we brainstormed, debated, and refined ideas, turning raw insights into actionable strategies that guided campaign direction.
I also collaborated closely with the Account Creative Director to ensure our strategic vision translated seamlessly into creative deliverables. This partnership allowed me to see firsthand how thoughtful strategy informs design and storytelling and how a unified approach can elevate a campaign’s impact.
What made this experience truly meaningful was the combination of leadership, mentorship, and teamwork. Guiding my team while learning from experienced leaders gave me a deep sense of responsibility and pride. Seeing our strategies come to life in creative assets and knowing our insights drove meaningful decisions reinforced my passion for strategy and my love for guiding ideas from concept to execution.
